I don’t know if it’s because I’m on a run of night shifts this week or because I’ve been at the end of some unduly hurtful words that have been going round my mind, like a broken record of negativity, but lately my heart has been longing for release and relief. Time has continued to pass since the time I lost a dear loved one, and it’s true when they say you go through hills and valleys on the road to healing.
Right now, I’m longing for sunshine, unconditional love, and hope.

This was a tiny moment we captured walking back to our car after the Open House Perth launch night. Some days we just have to pinch ourselves as it was just two little years ago that we started this here blog. And now to find ourselves being invited to be media partners to an event that we both love and admire, we are humbled, blessed and thankful.
Thankful to be able to express ourselves creatively. Thankful to be allowed this window into Perth’s creative tsunami. Thankful for the awe-inspiring, huge-hearted, earth-shaking people we’ve met along the way, a number of whom have hung about and remained as friends. You are what I’m most thankful for.

Chilly mornings call for big ol’ coats and chunky scarves wrapped a minimum of three times round one’s neck.
I’m contemplating making one of these but might just be a lazybones and buy one instead.
I wish I could be as cool as her.

A groovy cactus print.
A pick-me-up coffee at a new found hotspot.
A toasty vintage coat picked up for a bargain that comes with authentic old lady smell. (Need to sort that one out)
These are a few of my favourite things.

Say hi to my new friend who keeps me warm, happy and caffeinated on my way to work everyday. There are many children and colleagues out there who should thank this handsome guy for keeping cranky-pants-morning-Sarah at bay. You really don’t wanna see that.
KeepCup has recently introduced their latest series, Brew, featuring glass coffee cups coupled with their signature customisable coloured bands and lids. So you can’t fling this one around as much as their plastic cousins but they feel and look so good. Throw in the limited edition cork band and I’m in hipster heaven. But at the end of the day, the message is the same and still rings true. Sustainability underpinned by practicality and an awesome aesthetic.

This outfit is pretty atypical for me. I mean, if you hadn’t already noticed, I’ve pretty much launched myself headfirst into the latest 90s fashion revival and embraced crop tops, denim denim denim, and little flippy dresses with daisies printed on them. Soon, I’ll be getting one of those hats a la Blossom.
This look started with the shoes. I went into Zomp looking for black flatform sandals but came out with these killer Senso ones. I mean, a silver heel? Who wouldn’t!?!? But they just stuck out of my existing wardrobe like a sore thumb. Interestingly, all the other components of this outfit are also complete impulse buys that are out of keeping with my usual aesthetic, but somehow they match each other perfectly! This look may grown on me yet.
