It’s been a while since we did one of these wishlists but I’ve been hoarding my leave for almost a whole year in order to take a massive family trip around Myanmar, the place my mum and dad hail from! We leave tomorrow so don’t mind me if I’m just a tad excited!
This wishlist has been cultivated for maximal comfort, mobility, breathability and of course, photographability. (Me? Vain? Never…)
Please leave some travel tips below! Has anyone been to Myanmar before?

This was one of those outfits that I “put together” in my head whilst packing my bags for Melbourne. I’m one of those people who just can’t achieve anything unless there’s an element of stress involved. Which means I lie around the bedroom, bemoaning my lack of clothing choices for hours on end, procrastinating by trying on completely bizarre and impractical outfits, only to then madly throw random pieces of clothing at my open suitcase because I’m about to miss the plane.
Let me know what you think, but did I go a bit “cray cray” with this outfit? I was sitting having breakfast in Drugstore Espresso on Toorak Rd when I realised that I looked a tad like a little pink and yellow confection.

One of our first stops during our quick visit to Melbourne was a trip down Hosier Lane. No cars drive down this lane and over time it has become a gallery of some of the greatest street art you’ll ever see! I just love the mish-mash of colours and styles, practically every surface adorned by a garish signature or skilfully created visage. It’s one of our favourite spots we return to regularly as it’s never the same each time and always great fun to explore!

Now I don’t know why, but I just haven’t been a huge fan of denim jackets – until now…Maybe it’s because their often boxy shapes tend to be rather unflattering on me or they conjure up these kinds of images in my mind (you know, the bad kind of 90s fashion that is not experiencing a revival). But I just couldn’t walk past these prettily embroidered shoulders of this Nobody creation! My first attempt at trying it on wasn’t such a roaring success but with a little help from the lovely staff at Merge Subiaco this little baby eventually came home with me and boy has it made itself comfortable! Paired with a simple lace dress and my soft-as-butter shoes from Sydney label, The Horse, this has fast become my favourite summer outfit.

When I arrived back in Perth over Easter, lo and behold there were a couple of little packages awaiting for me to unwrap thanks to my ever thoughtful Jinn. And somehow they were also amazingly colour-coordinated! After hearing how I’d sunburnt my scalp during a fishing trip he went and picked out this crazy cool, Fresh Prince inspired cap from Urban Outfitters. I then opened the parcel that contained my long-awaited pink Kanken Mini to find that they were instant fashion-BFFs.
They instantly jazzed up my super comfy plane outfit that consisted of my latest favourite Karen Walker tee and ever present coloured skinny jeans. I don’t know about you but no matter how long or short a flight, I must travel in extreme comfort – no waist bands that cut in or itchy materials for me! Stretchy cotton all the way!

While we were in New York I kept spotting guys and girls alike with these awesomely cool-kid-on-the-block backpacks and I just had to find out where I could get one for my little ol’ self. On a few occasions we got close enough to see the logo, which consisted of a red fox and the words “Fjallraven Kanken” emblazoned upon it, and so these backpacks got affectionately named “Ferjanklekankles” by myself and Jinn. A week or so into our holiday we realised that we lived practically next door to a Fjallraven store, but by that time I’d already fallen in love with my light blue Herschel backpack and maxed out our 92kg baggage allowance (for real!) so sadly buying another backpack was not really an option.
However, even after getting back to Perth and putting myself thousands of kilometres between the Ferjanklekankles and me, my love for them never waned. Surprisingly, I’ve actually been going pretty strong with this online shopping ban I placed on myself last year in the effort to save money for our New York holiday – but thank goodness for loopholes and husbands! After some casual hinting and one or two web browser windows being strategically left open for him to see (and of course out of the kindness of his own dear heart!) Jinn bought me this one! I’ve already been dreaming up outfit posts to feature this little guy in and fantasising about all the great adventures we’re going to have traipsing around London and Paris in April. Oh and I’m looking forward to going on holiday with Jinn too. 😛 (You know I love you!)
