The zebra and the Shard

the-shard-11Wearing – Gorman jumper (love this bralet – perfect for Broome!), Madewell shirt, Urban Outfitters skirt (a faux leather option), Wolford merino tights, Camper shoes, Kate Spade necklace

Just shortly before going on holiday, we watched a Doctor Who episode that featured this glass-clad skyscraper as the headquarters for an alien organisation that was trapping people in its WiFi and converting them into energy (make sense?). It was quite an exciting episode and I can’t quite seem to translate that into plain words, but that might have something to do with the pyrotechnics and motorcycle ride straight up the side of the Shard that made it more thrilling.

I was half expecting to see Matt Smith aka the Doctor during our visit to this glistening modern day pyramid. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be, but we still had a great view over the centre of London city – we were so high up that even large structures such as the Tower Bridge were dwarfed! See if you can spot some landmarks in our photos below! Also, I’m not quite sure what possessed me, perhaps I was having such a good time or it’s quite possible that the cold had cut off all circulation to my brain and I’d become delirious – but I decided that it was perfectly appropriate to have a little dance around the viewing platform. Super duper Christmas present

outfit-6Say hello to my brand new glitzy and sparkly Super Duper Strength sunglasses by Karen Walker! Ever since I got them for┬áChristmas from my wonderful family (chosen by my oh-so-clever husband) I’ve been concocting all sorts of outfits in an attempt to incorporate these sweet sunnies into my everyday wear (do you think they’d be OTT to wear to Woolies?). Geez, I sometimes even open their box just to sit and stare at them for a bit whilst getting hypnotised by the fine gold details and the little tiny faces you can find if you look hard enough…Obsessed much?

Also debuting here today is my tiny gelato-coloured tassel bracelet, lovingly created by Rachel (my very talented and gorgeous sis-in-law!) who has her very own Etsy shop here! Each one of those perfect tassels has been artfully and meticulously created by her very hands, so you can be assured that each piece of jewellery comes with so much love attached!outfit-2 outfit-1a outfit-4 outfit-8 outfit-3 outfit-5outfit-7

Tiny mementoes from NYC

I bought these wee bracelets from Helene Pe at Artists & Fleas in Brooklyn as a teeny tiny way to remember our amazing time in New York. Helene is a French artist and jewellery designer whose quirkiness and eye for detail make her works both punchy but irresistibly delicate at the same time.

Visit her homepage and tempt yourself by visiting her online shop!

***What I’m wearing – black button-down tank by Ecote (similar), cat print trousers with gold zip detail (can’t find anything quite like it but these and these are pretty cool!), bracelets by Helene Pe, sunglasses by Robert Marc, shoes are a $5 find from the Ladies’ Market in Hong Kong (these are cute!)

***What Schnooks is wearing – fur model’s own (similar here and here)

***We do not condone the wearing of fur unless you are naturally blessed! (i.e. furry animals and Greek men)
